I was cutting coupons this morning and came across this one:
A&W Barbecue Sauce? Am I the only one that thinks this is weird? I mean, I love A&W Root Beer. But as a drink. On it's own in a big glass with ice. Or, even better, mixed with vanilla ice cream. I don't want it slathered on my grilled chicken or ribs.
If someone out there thinks this is a good idea, please explain it to me!

It actually makes sense to me. Have you ever seen a slow cooker recipe that calls for a can of DP, coke or root beer? This is sorta along that line of thinking. Adding a sweet familiar flavor to your BBQ. But you are right....it is strange to see the Root Beer label on the BBQ sauce. You should buy it so that we can all try it. If you don't want to...I will happily take your coupon and buy it, make some ribs and let ya know!
I will give you the coupon next time I see you. And then I will await your report.
I too saw that... it sounds good to me! DP & Root Beer-- two of my favorite things! Then add meat... how can that be bad?? :)
HEB sells this great cola BBQ sauce that I buy and use all the time, so I think DP BBQ sauce would be awesome. I'm going to go get some even without the coupon!
I would have already made the mistake of sticking a straw in the bottle and drinking it. Andy has a funny story about a barbeque sauce milkshake. Weird, yes. Probably good, though. I have a coke recipe for meat.
