Not Happy!

I was walking from my garage to my house a few minutes ago.  Our big Siamese, Brynner, was in the backyard chasing something.  I looked and it was a mouse!  NOOOOO! I ran in the house and shut the doggy door - locking both Brynner and his little mouse friend outside.  I told Robert he needed to go kill that mouse, since he's now in my backyard, which means he's kitty accessible.  But Robert is not being helpful.  He says it's good exercise for Brynner.  I will agree that Brynner is a tad pudgy, but why can't he stick to chasing lizards!  I don't need him chasing mice!

The joy of cats! A good mouser can sometimes be hard to come by. You ought to rent him out to non- cat owners as needed. Over time it could cover the cost of a textbook or two.

I hate mice!! You should be happy that you have a cat to catch it. The last time we had a mouse in the house, Brent and Devon actually played broom hockey with the thing until it died. The whole time I was screaming.

Is a mouse better or worse than the angry blue jay? I vote worse because at least the blue jay can't hide.

First ticks, now mice - what is our neighborhood coming to?

Eeeew - I would be VERY UNHAPPY to find a mouse in my house (and Kristie - broom hockey? thats just so ... I don't know what on so many levels ...)

I wonder if Charlie is a mouser? That might help, but since she can't sneak up on a bird - I'm thinking ditto for a mouse ... and then she would all want to be its friend and be BFF's.

Kimberly - don't get the comment about angry blue jay unless you had one in your apartment - but my vote is mouse - small little poops - not flying poop smattered on the walls (we had two very large birds wander into our house in Norway - different times - and they tend to panic, fly around and poop on everything vertical and horizontal).

My problem is that the mouse was outside. Brynner found it out there, and chances are, he probably would have brought it inside to play with. If I could be guaranteed he would only play with it outside, I wouldn't care. But that's not the case - and I don't need him bringing mice inside.

Lori, in reference to Kimberly's blue jay remark - Brynner once brought a live blue jay in the house. The jay was not happy, to say the least! We finally got it locked in a bathroom. Then Kimberly and I were too scared to go catch it, so I called Animal Control. I will be forever grateful to the nice man who came and caught the blue jay for us. It even took him about 5 minutes - and he had a net and gloves! Then we were left with the clean up....
