Christmas Stockings!

Last year I started making new Christmas stockings for my family. As is typical of many crafts I begin, I did not complete them last year. I resolved to finish them this year, and I just might do it! I have completed two of them (all except the fuzzy white stuff that will go around the top). Here is a picture of one of them (picture it with fuzzy white stuff around the top):

Here is a close up so you can see how I zig zagged around the pieces to give them a finished look:

I have to say, I think they are turning out pretty cute, and I'm pretty impressed with myself for getting them done (almost).

That stocking looks fantastic! Are you using the same material for all of them? Do you have a pattern or did you make it up? Are you putting names on them? I need all of this information. I have always had big dreams of making stockings for my family but have never even come close to beginning. I'm very impressed. When you get them all done please post a picture of them on your mantle so we can get the full effect. No pressure or anything.

Sarah, the stocking fronts are all made. They are all made with the same fabrics, but arranged differently so they all look different. Also, the stocking pictured is a girl's stocking. It has one more red fabric, plus the back and inside are a solid red. So I'm making 2 of them and then 4 that are more green than red. I do have a pattern, which I followed for the fronts. I'm not putting them together the way they suggested - I'm doing it an easier way! As far as names, I am just going to do a fusible fabric initial on the toe. The white stuff I'm using for the top is too fluffy for letters to stick to. This works for our family, because we all have different initials. You would have to pick a different white fabric - something you could put a name on. I will definitely post a picture of all of them hanging from my mantle when they are done.

So cute! I can totally see the white fluff too. I too have had big dreams of christmas stockings with names and such. I'm too lazy to do anything about it. I'm very impressed with your ambition!
